PE Activities

  • Daily fitness challenge like 7 in 7 or one from the useful websites.
  • Complete the Outdoor and Adventurous Unit of work
  • Complete the skill challenge for 1 week

Fitness challenge- 7 in 7 minutes

Perform as many reps of the 10 exercises in 10 minutes

  • Walk out on hands to push up
  • Start in a standing position place hands flat on floor
  • Walk out to plank position
  • Perform 1 push up then walk hands back to standing


  • Roll back to standing
  • Start on the floor in a tucked ball position
  • Roll back onto your shoulder blades
  • Then roll forward quickly and stand up


  • Alternate lunge with side twist
  • Start in standing position
  • Step forward on 1 leg lower knee to the ground
  • At the same time twist the upper body and touch the opposite elbow to the knee


  • Skydiver frog swim
  • Start lying face down on floor raise arms and legs wide in Skydiver position
  • Perform one breast stroke with arms and legs
  • Finish in superman position and repeat


  • Burpee with jumping jack
  • Start in plank position
  • Jump knees to chest and spring up into a jumping jak
  • Drop down to the ground and extend feet back to plank and repeat


  • Push up with lunge
  • Perform a push up
  • Bring alternate legs level to the push up hand and repeat


  • Side lunge and skater jump
  • Start in standing position
  • Lunge step to the left and then the right
  • Jump lunge to the left and right like a skater place the other foot behind for balance


Outdoor and Adventurous Activities Unit of Work

Activity 1 – Treasure Hunt

  • Pre K, K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Grade- Create a treasure hunt using stick arrows or playground chalk
  • Complete your course using a bike, scooter, skates, walking or jogging
  • See how fast you can complete your course
  • See if a family member can complete your course

Activity 2 – Den Building

  • Build a den with an adult- you can use sticks if you have a suitable outdoor space if not you can use chairs and blankets inside.


5th,  6th, 7th and 8th Grade- Use a map like the one in the link below to create a course an orienteering course to follow.

  • You can make your own map using google maps
  • You can use a bike, scooter, skates, jog or walk.
  • You can use playground chalk, sticks or symbols of your own to mark checkpoints.
  • You can use a compass if you have one to give a compass bearing to your next clue or mark your checkpoints on the map for a family member or friend to complete.


Skill Challenges

  • Design a training program for the sport of your choice
  • What are the important parts of your sport-
  1. flexibility gym/ dance

Shooting/ ball handling – basketball

Skating/ stick handling – hockey

Hand eye coordination/ throwing and catching – baseball


Plan what you will do for at least 30 minutes each day to improve your own sport- you may not be able to use facilities like the ice arena – can you work on stick handling instead?
